Executive board of the clinic

In accordance with section 9 paragraph 1 Medical University Act of the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt (HMG LSA) the board of the clinic is an institution of the University Clinic and manages the University Clinic.

In accordance with section 16 HMG LSA the board of the clinic is responsible for all affairs of the University Clinic, which are not transferred to the supervisory board by the HMG LSA. It also prepares the resolutions and decisions of the supervisory board and implements them. It is responsible for all tasks, which advance the structure and process quality of the University Clinic.

Duties and function of the members of the board of the clinic:

• In accordance with Section 12 HMG LSA, the medical director represents the University Clinic and manages the board of the clinic according to the clinic regulations with the aim of assuring the care of patients corresponding to the present state of medical knowledge in all clinical disciplines. This is to be achieved through careful spending based on operational and economic criteria. The director is responsible for the coordination of health care in the clinic.
• In accordance with Section 13 HMG LSA, the administrative director manages the business relating to the ongoing management of the University Clinic including the financial and technical management. For this reason, in accordance with Section 9 of the duties defined in the clinic's rules, authorisation is transferred to them to provide representation in matters concerning the ongoing business of the clinic's executive board, including full power of attorney.
• The dean of the medical faculty represents matters relating to research and teaching.
• In accordance with section 14 of HMG LSA, the director of care services represents the clinic's executive board in all matters relating to patient oriented care, including further patient-based services as well as quality assurance measures
