Save-the-date: 2nd Magdeburg Update on Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy
After a successful start, the University Medicine Magdeburg invites you once again to the "2nd Magdeburg Update on Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy" on November 13, 2024 – the event focuses on lectures and exchanges for doctors, professionals, and interested parties.
The University Hospital for Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy of the University Medicine Magdeburg, under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. Florian Junne, is hosting the "2nd Magdeburg Update on Psychosomatics" on November 13, 2024, on the campus of the University Medicine Magdeburg. The event will take place from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the premises of the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) and the University Hospital for Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy. The experts are looking forward to numerous visitors and direct, collegial exchange.
This year's program will also address current topics in the field of psychosomatic medicine and psychotherapy and provide space for questions and professional exchange. At the beginning of the event, Cathedral Preacher Jörg Uhle-Wettler will give an impulse lecture titled: "Pastoral Care 'meets' Psychotherapy: Strangers, Friends, or Relatives?" in dialogue with Prof. Junne.
The following will discuss trauma-related disorders and personality disorders, presenting current treatment approaches and therapeutic elements. In addition, the services of the psychosomatic outpatient clinic will be presented, offering a new opportunity for initial consultation, diagnostics, multiprofessional therapy, and aftercare.
Another expert lecture on the topic of physiotherapy for patients with psychosomatic disorders provides fascinating insights into the body relationship and its significance for the healing process. In addition, a subsequent expert lecture will address the key symptoms of anxiety, depression, and pain in older age, as well as specific challenges in the diagnosis and treatment of patients over 65 years old.
Finally, there is the opportunity for a clinic tour as well as insights into the application of Virtual Reality Exposure (VR-Expo) in the therapy of patients with anxiety disorders – with the possibility to try it out yourself.
Clinic Director Prof. Dr. med. Florian Junne is looking forward to the continuation of the event series and emphasizes: "We are very happy to be able to offer this event again and also look forward to personal exchanges with professionals and interested parties!"
The event is aimed at general practitioners, outpatient somatic specialists of all disciplines (from general medicine to dentistry), outpatient psychotherapists and psychiatrists, physiotherapists, pastoral caregivers, and other professional groups interested in the field of psychosomatic medicine and psychotherapy.
