The aim of this project is to implement parametric dynamic mathematical models that can explain the complex regulatory mechanisms of the central carbon metabolism of S. solfataricus. We study several alternative mathematical models that map the central carbon metabolism and the regulatory processes ensuring the homeostasis of the central carbon metabolism of S. solfataricus when subject to various perturbations. The observed perturbations are limited to carbon starvation, carbon mixtures (diauxic shift) and carbon source changes. This first conceptual models combine existing knowledge and serve as a starting point for the kinetic models that fit to the available data.
