I am interested in the pathological and behavioural characteristics of age-related disorders such as Parkinson’s disease (PD). My current project seeks to investigate how degeneration of dopaminergic midbrain regions (SN/VTA) in aging and in PD may impact cognitive function, in particular instrumental learning and memory consolidation. The project utilises a combination of high-field structural MRI techniques such as susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI) and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) along with functional (f) MRI.
Example study-wise templates using 7T MRI: anatomical T1, T2*-weighted magnitude, transverse relaxation rate (R2*) and quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM).
