The Magdeburg Center for Rare Diseases (MaZSE) is the central point of contact for the care of people with rare diseases at Magdeburg University Hospital and is part of the Central German Competence Network for Rare Diseases (MKSE).

When swallowing becomes a challenge: People with achalasia often experience significant discomfort when eating and drinking. At Magdeburg University Hospital, Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM) is a modern, minimally invasive procedure that can improve the quality of life for those affected.

Students in the Master’s program in Immunology visited the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology (IZI) in Leipzig and gained insights into current research projects as well as career opportunities at the institute.
