Teaching

The concept for the qualification of young scientists in the framework of the graduate school is based on three pillars: scientific qualification, practical qualification and professionalism. This will allow each doctoral student to develop a broad knowledge base through an individually tailored and structured education programs in order to qualify for the national and international labor market. Scientific qualification takes place during the work on each project under the leadership of the thesis committee, during visiting of seminars and lectures. A further practical qualification through the acquisition of complementary expertise can be achieved within the second pillar through participation in excursions, workshops and internships. The third pillar of the education concept includes activities, which are aimed to develop so-called "soft skills", such as business-fluent communication in a foreign language, presentation skills and the consideration of scientific and ethical aspects (e.g. the rules of good scientific practice).
