Acting patients wanted

29.07.2025 -

The Medical Faculty of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg is looking for actors and simulation patients for student communication training.

In realistic training scenarios, they take on the role of patients or relatives and enable medical students to practise important key skills such as communication skills, empathy and professional conduct. Whether it's taking medical histories, providing information before medical procedures or dealing with stressful situations, this practical training provides valuable experience for future professional life. A key element is the immediate feedback that students receive from the perspective of the ‘patients’.

We are looking for interested individuals between the ages of 18 and 60 who are physically fit and have a good memory for information. No prior medical knowledge or acting experience is necessary. What counts more is reliability, enjoyment of role-playing and an interest in interpersonal communication.

Before their first assignment, all participants receive free training that prepares them specifically for their role and for giving constructive feedback. The training takes place over a few days. Subsequent assignments in the classroom are planned flexibly and remunerated on an hourly basis.
