Magdeburg University Hospital is pleased to announce that Thomas Schröder will take over as managing director of Klinikum Cracau and Lungenklinik Lostau with effect from January 1, 2026. 

Researchers at Magdeburg University Hospital are conducting a clinical study to investigate whether gentle electrical stimulation of the ear can alleviate chronic fatigue.

The Magdeburg Anti-Infectives Day 2025, organized by the Anti-Infectives Commission of Magdeburg University Hospital, once again impressed with a wide-ranging and interdisciplinary program. The impressive number of participants underscores that the annual event, which takes place in November, has long since become an integral part of the continuing education and training landscape in Saxony-Anhalt.

A recent study by Magdeburg University Hospital has yielded exciting findings: robot-assisted liver surgery is significantly gentler on the immune system than conventional open surgery. Published in the journal Surgical Endoscopy, the study highlights not only the precision of modern robot-assisted procedures, but also their health benefits for patients.

With the new Saxony-Anhalt North Neurovascular Network (“NeuvaNet SAN”) and a mobile neuroradiological intervention team, Magdeburg University Hospital is working with regional partners to strengthen stroke care. The goal: more reliable, optimally coordinated treatment—even when no interventional team is available locally at short notice.

For the first time, the University Clinic for Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery and the Vascular Surgery Department of the University Clinic for General, Visceral, Vascular, and Transplant Surgery in Magdeburg organized a joint hands-on course in November.
