We know a student job can be quite challenging. Not only because it is exhausting to work while studying, but also because there are many rules and laws in Germany that are uncharted territory for many of you.

Therefore, we would like to invite you to our seminar How to Work in Germany – Your Rights & Obligations on the German Labour Market:

Location:        Campustheater (J.-G.-Nathusius-Ring 5, 39106 Magdeburg) of the Studentenwerk Magdeburg
Host:               Jennifer Beder, Social Counselling and Dzhemile Umerova, advisory service BemA

This seminar provides an overview on these rights and obligations for international students on the German Labour Market (Part-Time Jobs, Internships,…).
We will also talk about standards of German Employment Contracts, Remuneration, protection against dismissal, working hours, labour and health protection & regulations of the immigration authority.
At the end of the seminar we will show you where you can go if you have any questions or problems regarding your employment and you will have the opportunity to ask your questions right away.

The seminar is free of charge and held in English by an experienced trainer of the advisory service BemA.
BemA provides information and consultation as well as support for migrant workers regarding the German Labour Market and consists of advisory service centres and outreach teams. The team of BemA is multilingual and can be approached in different languages.
The Services of BemA are always confidential and free of charge.

It is addressed to international students at the Otto von Guericke University and the Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences and is limited to 30 participants.
