Operation

The Clinic for Trauma Surgery operates parallel in two modern, fully equipped operating rooms, covering a wide range of services.

As a rule, your operation will take place during the course of the admission day. Depending on the time your operation is planned for, you may have to wait until the afternoon. In accident surgery, many acutely injured people are treated, often with life-threatening injuries. We therefore ask for your understanding if your operation has to be postponed due to such an emergency.

Please do not wear make-up or nail polish on the day of the operation. This may affect the functionality of some monitoring devices in the operating room. You should take off your glasses and dentures on the ward.

In the operating room, you will receive all-round care from our doctors and nurses. From your arrival in the operating room to your return to the ward, we are always at your side. Furthermore, the anaesthesia team will make sure that you are monitored carefully throughout your surgery.

After the operation, you will be taken to the recovery room of the anaesthesia clinic. You can relax here for a few hours while being closely monitored. Once you have recovered, our nurses will then pick you up and bring you back to the ward to your room.
