Always in the mood for painting
On January 22, 2026, the Medical Central Library will kick off the cultural year 2026 with the opening of the exhibition “Immer Lust auf's Malen” (Always in the Mood for Painting) by the painting group “Bunte Palette” (Colorful Palette). Art lovers are cordially invited to visit the exhibition.
The amateur painters of the “Bunte Palette” painting group sought a meaningful leisure activity in retirement, preferably in a community setting. They found a home at the “Herz-ASZ” in Magdeburg-Kannensteig, a facility run by Paritätische Sachsen-Anhalt. The center offers a wide range of counseling, exercise, and creative activities and promotes interaction among people of different ages and cultures.
Diversity in technique and style
The artistic backgrounds of the individual group members varied. In the painting group, they inspire one another, take on new challenges, experiment with watercolor and acrylic techniques, discuss their resulting works, and offer one another tips.
This results in impressive landscapes, representational and abstract compositions – a mosaic of colors, shapes, and stories.
Amateur artists Rosi Dolle, Dagmar Hillesheim, Doris Hoffmann, Bernhard Meinecke, Edeltraud Rusche-Pieper, Marianne Rutt, Heidi Schlemmermeyer, Otto Schmidt, and Renate Wank are delighted to present their latest works in their second exhibition at the Central Medical Library.
The Central Medical Library offers services and information media to support members of the University Medical Center Magdeburg in teaching, research, and patient care. It is also open to the general public with an interest in medicine.
With public exhibitions and events, the library complements the city's cultural offerings and provides a platform for regional artists.
