At the Magdeburg University Medical Center’s Career Day, numerous interested visitors were able to learn about the wide range of training and degree programs available. Staff members and trainees provided fascinating insights into various career fields and were available for one-on-one conversations and to answer questions.

Climate, Heat, Emergency Care: At the KlimaNOT Symposium on August 27, 2026, experts gathered at Magdeburg’s Wissenschaftshafen to discuss how to better identify the health consequences of heat waves and prepare acute and emergency care systems for the challenges of climate change. The event was hosted by the Institute for Public Health in Acute Medicine (IPHAM).

60th birthday, a grand gesture: Instead of receiving gifts, Prof. Uwe-Bernd Liehr asked for donations to a good cause. On the occasion of his 60th birthday, 2,900 euros were raised for the Magdeburg Association for Children with Cancer (Förderkreis krebskranker Kinder e.V.). The impressive donation total has now been officially presented.
