From September 17 to 18, 2026, the eyes of the scientific community were on Magdeburg: With the Immune RESET 2026 conference, Magdeburg University Medical Center invited leading international researchers, clinicians, industry experts, and patient advocates to the city on the Elbe. Animal testing in research is a sensitive topic that concerns many people. The UMMD and the OVGU, together with the European Animal Research Association (EARA), invite you to the “Animal Research Openness Event.” On October 6, 2026, the event will focus on transparency, openness, and the importance of animal testing in biomedical research. Presentations, a panel discussion, and opportunities for discussion will provide a chance to ask questions and learn more about current research. Participation is free, but registration is required.

How much exercise is still healthy—and when does it become a risk? The lecture series “Magdeburg Evenings in Sports Medicine” explores these questions. On September 30, 2026, Lecture Hall 7 on the campus of Magdeburg University Medical Center (Leipziger Straße 44) will open its doors at 5:00 p.m. The event is explicitly designed not only for a specialized audience from the fields of medicine and science, but for anyone interested in the connections between exercise and health.
