A look behind the scenes: Future Day 2026 at UMMD
On April 23, 2026, Magdeburg University Medical Center (UMMD) will once again open its doors for Future Day (Girls' & Boys' Day). On this day, schoolchildren will have the unique opportunity to learn about professions that are traditionally less common among their own gender. The goal: to break down stereotypes, discover talents, and gain exciting insights into the world of cutting-edge medicine and administration.
This year, UMMD is offering three specialized programs. Registration will be open from February 25, 2026 via the official Radar website.
Our programs at a glance
1. Nursing, surgery, and radiology up close (Boys' Day)
This program takes 30 young men to the heart of patient care. Experience the interplay of different specialist areas that are indispensable for everyday clinical work.
- Contents: Insights into professional nursing, the role of surgical assistants (OTA), and working with state-of-the-art technology in radiology.

2. Management & Pharmacy: From Order to Patient (Girls' Day)
How do medicines and bandages actually get to where they are needed? 15 female students take a look behind the scenes of logistics and administration.
- Contents: Tour of the purchasing and warehouse departments, quiz, interesting facts about dual training, and a visit to the central pharmacy including practical exercises.

3. Therapy professions: Strong together for recovery (Boys' Day)
For anyone who enjoys working with people and wants to promote mobility. Here, 20 students learn how patients find their way back to everyday life.
- Contents: Insights into physiotherapy (movement), speech therapy (speech/swallowing), and occupational therapy (independence in everyday life).

Important note on registration
Registration for all programs starts on February 25, 2026. As experience has shown that places are quickly filled, we recommend registering early via the Girls' Day or Boys' Day Radar.
