The Healthcare Network Meeting
On April 24, 2026, the 23rd meeting of the young interdisciplinary Healthcare network will take place at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. The network brings together professionals from all areas of healthcare and was founded on the initiative of a visionary who brought the first members together more than ten years ago. Today, the network continues to facilitate exchange among professional groups and sectors and to promote critical and confidential dialogue with opinion leaders and decision-makers.
The aim of the network is to give young people practical insight into the decision-making processes and background of the German healthcare system. Temporary and limited cooperation with companies and associations helps to ensure that events remain accessible regardless of hierarchical levels and financial resources. The insights gained are used to shape a sustainable, modern healthcare system.
This year's meeting is guided by the theme: “Gender-sensitive medicine from the coalition agreement to healthcare provision – gender-sensitive medicine as a mission for research, teaching, and politics.” Under the patronage of the German Society for Gender-Specific Medicine, the program offers specialist lectures, discussions, and networking opportunities. The event will kick off with a get-together and a round of introductions for participants, followed by contributions from practice, research, and politics. Among other things, the perspectives of AOK Saxony-Anhalt on gender-sensitive medicine in prevention and care, innovative approaches from medical technology by Avisé Labs GmbH, and the status of implementation at the university outpatient clinic of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg will be presented. Further program content will shed light on the political shaping of gender-sensitive medicine in Saxony-Anhalt and the development of practical recommendations for action.
The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. with registration and an initial get-together. Throughout the day, there will be presentations, discussions, and breaks for personal exchange, before the day concludes with a dinner at the Wenzel Magdeburg restaurant at 7:00 p.m.
The main topics include: the promotion of gender-sensitive approaches by health insurance companies, the interlinking of research, science, and product development in medical technology, the implementation of gender-sensitive medicine in university outpatient clinics, and political initiatives at the state level. The network meeting thus offers a platform for combining theory and practice and developing concrete recommendations for action in research, teaching, and healthcare.
