Invitation to the public introduction

The Appointments Committee of the Faculty of Medicine at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg invites all interested parties to a public hearing of the applicants for the W3 endowed professorship in geriatrics with a focus on neurology on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
The event will take place in the large conference room (Building 18) on the campus of Magdeburg University Hospital, Leipziger Str. 44, 39120 Magdeburg.
Scientific presentations including discussion
- 8:00–8:30 a.m.: Dr. Marlena Schnieder, University Medical Center GöttingenTopic: “Frailty, stroke, and the glymphatic system: Perspectives on cerebral vulnerability in old age.”
- 8:35–9:05 a.m.: Dr. Cornelius Johannes Werner, Johanniter Hospital Stendal Topic: “Dysphagia as a neurogeriatric syndrome: modern imaging, artificial intelligence, and innovative medical technology.”
This will be followed by teaching demonstrations on the topic of “Definition of frailty and its significance for prognosis.”
