Referral to the consultation for Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders

In the consultation hour for Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders, we examine patients with Parkinson's syndromes, tremor disorders, and dystonia, particularly with the question of therapy escalation (medication, deep brain stimulation, and parenteral therapies). Another focus is on unclear and complex movement disorders, e.g., atypical Parkinson's syndromes, choreatiform diseases, and functional movement disorders.

We offer the complete diagnostic spectrum, including extensive neuropsychological testing, cerebrospinal fluid/laboratory diagnostics, L-dopa testing, and, in collaboration with colleagues from the relevant specialist areas, nuclear medicine, and genetic examinations. These biomarker-oriented diagnostics lead to an individual therapy recommendation. Should further inpatient diagnostics or therapy be necessary (particularly in the case of deep brain stimulation or treatment using parenteral methods/medication pumps), we will organize this accordingly if you and your patient agree. In addition, suitable patients will be offered participation in interventional and non-interventional studies.

For patients with functional movement disorders, there is cooperation with the Klinik für Psychosomatische Medizin und Psychotherapie.

We kindly ask you to bring::

  • cCT or cMRI preliminary images (radiological findings and CD),
  • previous medical reports,
  • a current medication plan,
  • current/last laboratory values (if available)

.

At the end of the examination, we will return all the documents you brought with you to your patient.
