Studienkolleg
If your university entrance qualification allows you to study in your home country but not in the Federal Republic of Germany, you must take the Feststellungsprüfung (assessment test) before taking up studies in Germany.
Passing the assessment test entitles you to study in Germany, but does not guarantee you a place at university.
The preparatory course for the Feststellungsprüfung usually takes one year.
The training in the M-course (for medicine) takes place in Halle.
Before you can be admitted to the Studienkolleg, you must pass an entrance examination.
Only those with the best results will be admitted to the Studienkolleg.
For this reason, you should have at least a basic knowledge of German, as a better knowledge of German will increase your chance of a place at the Studienkolleg.
The entrance examination is held in August for the winter semester and in February for the summer semester.

Application deadlines are January 15 for the following summer semester and July 15 for the following winter semester.
With these application documents, you can apply directly to uni-assist:
1. carefully and completely filled in form: "Antrag auf Zulassung zum Studium" (Application for admission to studies)
2. officially certified copies of the certificates that entitle the holder to university studies in the home country and in Germany;
- University entrance certificates and, depending on the country of origin, proof of a university entrance examination in the home country,
- Proof of periods of study and the respective transcripts of record
3. officially certified translations of certificates into German by sworn translators
- Documents in English or French are also accepted.
4. German language skills: B1- Zertifikat, officially certified certificate of Zertifikat Deutsch from the Goethe Institutes (www.goethe.de ) or from the Volkshochschulen (www.vhs.de ) in Germany.
- Note: Certificates of attendance or registration confirmations will not be accepted.
