Become a simulation patient at the University of Magdeburg!
University Medicine Magdeburg is looking for simulation patients for the communication training of medical students.
In order to teach key skills such as communication, attitude and empathy in medical studies, the Faculty of Medicine at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg is once again looking for people who are interested in acting or simulating patients in the training of future doctors after completing a training course. We are currently looking for people between the ages of 18 and 60 who feel physically fit and can remember a number of things well. No medical knowledge, theater or acting experience is required.

With the help of simulated conversation situations, medical students are prepared for contact with real patients and relatives and learn how to deal with everyday medical situations. Whether it's a comprehensible explanatory discussion at eye level, breaking bad news or simple admission interviews - many practical skills are practiced here that the young doctors will need in their later professional lives. In contrast to everyday clinical practice, the "patients" can also contribute by providing direct feedback.
As an acting or simulation patient, you will be trained for a jointly agreed role after a mandatory introductory workshop. The training lasts a few days. During this time, people not only learn their role, but also practise giving feedback to students. The training is free of charge. Assignments in the classroom are then paid on an hourly basis.
Details on training as an acting or simulation patient and the program will be provided at the next information event on 14.02.2024 from 16.00 - 18.00 on the campus of the University Medical Center Magdeburg. Please register in advance by e-mail to up to and including 07.02.2024. After the registration deadline, interested parties will receive further information on the specific venue by e-mail.
