First aid for Teddy and co.

02.05.2024 -

A "Big Teddy Clinic" is taking place again this year, organised by students from the Faculty of Medicine at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. For the 15th time, children will have the opportunity to have their sick cuddly toys treated by medical students in a small tent hospital on the lawn of the Fermersleber Weg 23 hall of residence in Magdeburg from 14 to 17 May 2024 (Tue-Fri from 8.30 am to 1 pm).

The Teddy Clinic aims to take away children's fear of visiting the doctor by letting them go through the process of a visit with their cuddly toys in the role of their parents. "The children can playfully get to know different examinations and prospective doctors and hopefully visit the paediatrician without fear in the future," says medical student Christin Große, explaining the idea behind the project.

ore than 700 children from daycare centres throughout Magdeburg have already registered for the project. An open consultation hour for all "needy" cuddly toys is planned for Wednesdays from 2.30 - 4.30 pm.
