Long-Covid research project: participants wanted!

17.04.2023 -

After a COVID-19 infection, many affected persons still suffer from physical or mental complaints months afterwards. The Universitätsklinik für Psychosomatische Medizin und Psychotherapie (University Hospital for Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy) Magdeburg is interested in psychosocial needs of patients with Long-COVID in the PsyLoCo study.

We are currently urgently looking for participants for the therapy study of the PsyLoCo project who are older than 18 years, affected by a Long-COVID symptomatology, currently not in psychotherapeutic treatment and able to participate in several appointments on site.

The study will test the newly developed therapy manual, which consists of four modules. The topics addressed include physical complaints and pain, chronic exhaustion, stress management, and return to social and working life. The treatment program is designed as a 12-hour short-term therapy, with one session per week in an individual setting. In addition to the therapeutic sessions, participants receive questionnaires for scientific evaluation.

The knowledge gained should help to improve the outpatient care and rehabilitation of affected patients.
