It is an organ system that is exposed to extreme stress. Multiple factors such as age, nutrition, micro- and macroenvironment can lead to a disturbance of the functioning system, which among other things contributes to the development of inflammatory or malignant diseases. In this lecture, you will gain insight into the latest molecular research of the gastrointestinal tract and microbiome.
