Our UMMD Science Slam is back and this time with even more energy, fun and passionate scientists! After the enormous success of the first event last year, you can once again look forward to an unforgettable evening full of entertainment, knowledge transfer and exciting insights into the world of research at UMMD.

What is a Science Slam?

For those who are not yet familiar with the concept: A science slam is a special event where scientists from various disciplines take to the stage and present their research in snappy and entertaining short talks. The special thing about it is that the participants not only have to demonstrate their specialist knowledge, but also their ability to present complex topics in an understandable and captivating way - and all within a strict time limit! At the end, the audience decides who has given the best presentation.

What can you expect?

Our Science Slam this year promises another colorful mix of topics ranging from radiopharmacy to neuroscience to hospital hygiene. Whether you're a die-hard science fan or just curious to learn more about the world around us, this evening offers something for everyone. In addition to the entertaining talks, you can also expect handmade music and a selection of drinks and snacks to sweeten your evening.

The evening will be hosted by Paula Günnisdóttir from MINDdrop e.V., which is dedicated to the organization and implementation of poetry slams. The event is also supported by the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE), the Leibniz Institute of Neurobiology (LIN), the student club Kiste e.V., the Teddy Clinic team and the Friends and Sponsors of University Medicine e.V.
