Occupational Safety and Health Protection Staff Unit (S9)
The staff of the Occupational Health and Safety Unit advises the hospital's Executive Board as well as the specialist managers and employees of Magdeburg University Medical Center on health and safety issues, including the ergonomic design of work. In addition, or with special emphasis, we advise on the topics of fire protection, hazardous materials, hazardous substances, waste disposal, genetic engineering and biomaterials.
Further tasks are among others in the § 6 Arbeitssicherheitsgesetz fixiert.
Our Services
- Workplace inspections in cooperation with the staff medical service and the staff council
- Investigations of occupational accidents and processing of accident reports
- Advice and support in the preparation of risk assessments
- Support in risk management and action tracking
- Support in the preparation of the hospital alarm and deployment plan
- Support for the FACT24 alerting system
- Advice on the procurement of personal protective equipment, first aid materials, and skin protection products
- Support in the preparation and implementation of instructions
- Training for safety officers, managers, and fire protection assistants
- Orienting measurements of climatic factors and air quality
- Checking compliance with workplace limits for hazardous substances
- Occupational safety and fire protection opinions for investment projects
- Advice on the transport of hazardous materials
- Hazardous waste disposal
