The Faculty Council is an organ of the Medical Faculty and works on the basis of § 2 HMG LSA.
According to HMG LSA, the elected faculty council has the following tasks:
- Election of the Dean and the Pro Dean,
-
Approval of the annual financial statements and the explanatory report.
In addition, the tasks for the extended Faculty Council are defined. Thus, all university professors are entitled to vote in the following decisions:
- In the formation of appointment committees
- When deciding on appointment proposals
- When deciding on examination and study regulations as well as doctoral and habilitation regulations
- When deciding on the course offer
- When deciding on the proposal for the appointment of honorary professors and visiting professors
- In the decision-making on evaluation results and their implementation
- In the proposal for the election of the dean
- in habilitation procedures.
