About the person

PD Dr Susanne Vogt, born in 1985, studied medicine in Halle (Saale). She completed her doctorate at the University of Mainz and habilitated at the University of Magdeburg in 2017. She trained as a specialist in neurology in Magdeburg. She has additional qualifications in special pain therapy, palliative medicine and emergency medicine. She has been working at the University Clinic for Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy in Magdeburg since 2023.

In her research, the neurologist focuses on psychological stress and optimisation of symptom management in severe neurological diseases as well as patient-centred pain management in cases of psychological comorbidity and underlying somatic diseases. In addition, she conducts studies on the validation and development of patient-reported outcome measures using mathematical models and is involved in imaging research and biomarker analysis. At the University Department of Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy, she transfers the scientific knowledge gained into innovative approaches in the field of translational therapy research to prevent progressive chronification and improve the quality of life of those affected.
