About the person
Prof Jazan Omari, MD, born in 1990, studied human medicine in Hamburg, where he also completed his doctorate in experimental pathology in 2017. He completed his habilitation in 2020 in experimental radiology at Magdeburg University Hospital. In April 2023, Omari was appointed to the W2 professorship for Interventional Radiology at the University Clinic for Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Magdeburg. He then moved to the Institute for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at Frankfurt (Oder) Hospital as Chief Physician.
His research interests lie in image-guided tumour therapy and the factors influencing tumour biology that can predict the success of local tumour therapies and specific tumour changes. The radiologist conducts studies on the effectiveness of local therapies, with CT-guided interstitial brachytherapy being one of his areas of specialisation.
