Start of training as a nursing specialist for 11 UMMD employees

08.03.2024 -

On March 1, 2024, 11 long-standing nursing assistants at UMMD began their 3-year training to become nursing assistants with full pay.

The trainees complete the theoretical part, which comprises 2,100 hours, at the Education Center for Health Professions in Magdeburg. The practical training takes place in 2500 hours at the University Hospital Magdeburg A.ö.R. and various inpatient and outpatient long-term care facilities throughout Saxony-Anhalt. It includes an orientation assignment, compulsory assignments in inpatient, outpatient acute and long-term care as well as in pediatric and psychiatric care. The in-depth placement in the last third of the training completes the practical part. The training is completed with a written, oral and practical final examination.

All employees have been working on the wards as nursing assistants or nurses for many years. They want to develop professionally to become a nursing specialist so that they can take on more responsibility in their job and for patients. Thanks to a funding program through the Federal Employment Agency, this could be realized in a project with the Nursing Directorate, the Human Resources Department and the Training Center of the University Hospital Magdeburg A.ö.R. . We, the Nursing Directorate, wish our employees every success in their training, great experiences and increased knowledge and would like to thank everyone who has supported this project
