"Stork in the town hall" inspires expectant parents and families

16.05.2024 -

On May 13, 2024, the popular "Storch im Rathaus" event took place for the fifth time. The event attracted numerous future parents who were able to obtain comprehensive information about various aspects of birth planning. Of course, the University Women's Hospital Magdeburg was also on hand to provide information about its pregnancy and birth services. There were many questions about birth planning, the clinic's parent information evenings, the birth itself, breastfeeding courses, the sibling course and much more.

Diana Scherping, the nurse in charge of the intensive pregnancy consultation, reported: "The event is not only great for parents-to-be, families and children, but also for us as contributors, for example for interdisciplinary exchange or the promotion of cooperation between individual departments."

In addition to the various clinics in Magdeburg, numerous other contributors were present, including offices of the city administration, the midwives' association, child and youth protection, early intervention centers, family and educational counseling, daycare and daycare place search.Entertainment for children was also provided, for example with a bouncy castle. The ADAC was also on hand to advise parents and parents-to-be.

Scherping added: "It was also nice to see familiar pregnant women again who have decided to come to the clinic for a second or third time and were able to talk to us. It was another great afternoon and I'm already looking forward to being able to take part in the event again next year for the University Women's Hospital."
