Student Exchange
An exchange of study placements before the start of the 1st semester is no longer possible as of the winter semester 20/21. Due to the new DoSV admission procedure at the Foundation for University Admission (Stiftung für Hochschulzulassung), applicants can now decide for themselves which faculty they want to study at.
The exchange of study placements in higher semesters must be capacity-neutral, i.e. both exchange partners must be enrolled in the same degree program and in the same semester at a German university. The achievements acquired up to the exchange must essentially correspond. After the 1st section of the medical examination, the clinical subject semesters are taken as a basis. In the case of an exchange in higher semesters, all credits required by the study regulations of the Medical Faculty of Magdeburg must be acquired. However, there is no entitlement to individual special regulations for the acquisition of credits (e.g. separate examination times, individual study planning).
An exchange of study positions is excluded if the exchange partner has failed an examination. The remaining examination entitlement must be confirmed on the exchange form by the examination office of the university involved. The completed and signed exchange form must be accompanied by the master data sheet and a current performance overview of the exchange partner.
Exchange applications for higher semesters are usually to be submitted by 15.3./15.9. of the year. In case of an exchange after the 1st section of the medical examination, the deadline is extended until 1 week after the announcement of the M1 examination results, max. until 30.3./30.9 of the year.
Exchange partners without a German university entrance qualification must be able to present a language certificate at the highest level (DSH-3, TestDaF 19 points, ZOP).
There is no legal right to make an exchange, the University is not involved in the exchange except for the consent and the execution. The University does not support any exchange that involves material benefit.
